missautopsy: (Blitzkrieg Blonde!)
Well, this time last year, I never thought I would have uttered these words: I'm engaged to be married.

Yes, my friends and loved ones, I have met The One. He is kind, caring; he hopelessly loves me as much as I do him and we are officially ready to start a life together. I chose to wait to make the announcement (he proposed on Christmas Eve) until he officially spoke with my Dad, Mom, and Gran and got their stamps of approval. I knew that wouldn't be a problem because they've all met him and liked him from the start; including my Dad who happens to be the hardest to please when it comes to his little girl. My Dad has never had much affection for guys I've dated (or even married [the time I call my unfortunate incarceration]), but my Dad genuinely likes him. And my Gran was smitten from the start; she told Mom from the get-go that I was very serious about this one and she could tell just by the way I looked at him. She's already for us to set the date!

There must be something in the air because my very good friend [livejournal.com profile] hankhill717 took the plunge not so long ago himself and I hope this time around brings him everything he deserves in life.

A brief history of time: I met [livejournal.com profile] wtb3 at [livejournal.com profile] watcher1's birthday party. I thought [livejournal.com profile] wtb3 was with someone else so I didn't dare make a move. Come to find out, he wasn't with her and it was simply a missed opportunity. I told [livejournal.com profile] watcher1 via thank you note for the party invite that I was quite disappointed I didn't catch [livejournal.com profile] wtb3's eye and between [livejournal.com profile] watcher1 and [livejournal.com profile] brujah working their magical charms, [livejournal.com profile] wtb3 have been inseparable ever since.

Having been with some selfish and uncaring sorts in the past, I finally know what it feels like to have someone (other than family) truly care for my well-being, happiness and everything else unconditionally I might add. And, did I mention he has a hot body? Damn brotha, I could rub that sexy tummy for hours; it's very therapeutic.

So, yes, I've disappeared from LJ Land because I've been spending wonderful days and nights with the man of my dreams. Corny, yes, but true.
